Here she goes again!! Gail is running another marathon and this time she’s raising money for Newport Pagnell Swimming Club! Any donations are gratefully received!!

Newport Pagnell Swimming Club is steeped in history, dating back to 1896, making it not only an important part of the local community but also one of the oldest swimming club in Britain. The club train and teach at Middleton Pool, Newport Pagnell.

The club is Swim21 accredited, with a view that it’s really important to focus on developing swimmers to help them achieve their own personal goals.

The club’s “Stepping Stones” programme starts from as young as three years old and smooth progression is ensured for any swimmers who wish to continue to develop their techniques, through the Academy and ultimately the Age and Youth Squads. There are even Masters sessions for adults to participate and learn how to swim properly, whilst also keeping fit.

Focus is put on technique, cardiovascular and muscular endurance, flexibility and discipline delivered by experienced coaches.

NPSC is a friendly, family club with a competitive spirit for all swimmers from developing water confidence through to winning championships.

Do you often sit by the pool wondering how you could spend your time more effectively?

Do you wonder who all the people are that keep NPSC running?

What’s the difference between the people who wear White tops at competitions or Blue ones?

Have you wondered how to get more involved, but don’t know who to talk to?

There are are always Committee Members around the desk on a Tuesday if you want to find out more.

Coaches Tips

Focus on maintaining high quality technique during the quality set, continuously re-evaluate the quality of your swimming as it is how well your technique holds when you are tired that will affect how well you swim in competition.
Youth Squad Swimmers – Lactate sets must be completed at maximum speed to provide maximal benefit. Swim fast in training, swim faster in competition.
Age Squad swimmers – streamlining in starts and turns, underwater kick speed, firm and strong strokes
