Swimmers can join our Stepping Stones programme from 3 years old. Our youngest swimmers start in the baby pool where the main focus is on the development of water confidence and basic water movement skills through both work and play. Initially these swimmers will be awarded Duckling badges.

The main scheme the club follows is the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) National Plan for Teaching Swimming which encompasses 10 stages of development. The emphasis is to continue to build water confidence, develop swimming skills and teach correct swimming technique over short distances. Once the swimmer has completed Stage 6 they will be given the option to join the club’s Academy.

Class size varies from 6 to 10 dependent on the ability of the class being taught. Our teachers (Frog Leaders) are all ASA qualified and attend training courses as part of their continuous professional development. Most of the teachers have an assistant (Frog Helper) who is an ASA qualified Helper.

We hold lessons on a Tuesday evening at Middleton Swimming Pool, Newport Pagnell. The lessons last for 30 minutes and start at 17:30, 18:00 and 18:30. Lessons are paid for in blocks of 12 weeks. There is also an annual family club membership charge.

As required, potential new members are invited to join us for a ‘trial’ swimming lesson in order to confirm their correct level and thus determine the appropriate class. Trials are normally held at the start and end of each term. If you are interested in joining us, or would like further information, please don’t hesitate to contact Alison on 07480 751638 for a viewing and free trial, or another member of the Committee.
